This year we are marking the 60^th anniversary of the publication of Jack Kerouac’s novel Satori in Paris. In 1965, the author went to Brittany looking for his ancestor and walked through Brest carrying a small suitcase, lost and found. During the AGM, the film producer, Gwendal Quistrebert, will be online from Brittany, to present his film Sur les traces de Jack Kerouac, a mock-documentary in Jack Kerouac’s footsteps, i.e., walking through Brest!

In the afternoon we drive to St-Hubert-de-Rivière-du-Loup to visit the Espace Jack Kerouac at the Municipal Library, the parish church and cemetery where many Kirouacs are buried. This village was chosen because it is Jack’s father’s birthplace. Jack visited it in 1967 looking for his French-speaking roots.

REGISTRATION: No registration fee this year. Each person attending the event at Rivière-du-Loup pays their own lodging and meals BUT must register by September First, at the KFA address: [email protected]
