COAT OF ARMS or CREST OF THE KIROUAC FAMILY ASSOCIATION

Azure, Dexter a book and quill, Sinister, a wheat sheaf cogwheels in centre base, all or, on a chief gules supported by a wavy tringle argent, three ermines or.  In plain English this translates as:


On a blue field or background, to the right, a golden book and quill,

To the left, a golden wheat sheaf,

Gold cogwheels in the centre base,

the top part or chief is red, supported by a wavy silver band,

bearing three golden specks, the three ermines.

The crest of the Kirouac Family Association was created by Ms. Hélène Kirouac (GFK 01154*), daughter of Joseph-Jean and Amanda (née Ouellette) Kirouac from Warwick, Quebec, Canada. (*reference number as in the 1991 Kirouac Genealogy)


On 9 June 2001, the official KFA crest, and its motto Fierté, Dignité, Intégrité, i.e. Pride, Dignity, Integrity, were adopted by the KFA at the Annual General Meeting held in Sainte-Croix-de-Lotbinière, Quebec, Canada. The unveiling was presided by Clément Kirouac (GFK 00800), then KFA President (1994-2000), and by François Kirouac (GFK 00715), then KFA Secretary and one of the fifteen founding members of the Kirouac Family Association.


This crest and its copyrights were registered on 2 November 2009 according to articles 49 and 53 of the Copyright Act of Canada. Any person or organization wishing to use this crest first must obtain written permission from the Kirouac Family Association.
